Maternia is a family business that creates products to simplify life after baby. Our first product is Baby Brain - the ultimate iPhone app for parents. Established in 2009 by Jackie and Jay Ashton, Maternia was inspired by Marina (born July '07) and Taylor Ashton (born November '08) - our two little ones under two.

When Marina was born, I was so nervous about making sure I did everything right, but I couldn't remember a thing. Was it the right side or the left? I was worried about whether or not she was eating enough, and I was desperate to find her best sleep times so that I could get more rest.

So, I started tracking everything on paper, and stored it in a bulky binder. The logs reassured me that my daughter was eating well, and helped me to see her sleep patterns. It was very helpful, but I thought...there has to be a better way.

Sixteen months later, Taylor came along and I got out those logs again to remember what the heck I did with the first baby. I was once again sleep deprived and I found myself jotting things down on unopened mail, receipts, or the back of my hand.

We developed Baby Brain to give parents just what they need - a simple tool for tracking your baby's meals and sleep - so you can relax and get more rest.
